Ulus Residence

Located in Istanbul's posh Ulus district, this originally two-bedroom residence was acquired in 2004 by The Abhary Group and leased until a full refurbishment took place in 2009-10. Set within the Terrace Houses division of the Platin luxury residential compound, this unit had remained unmodernised from its original 1997 build.

We took a Mid-Century Modern design approach to this full refurbishment project and converted the residence into a one-bedroom plus den bachelor unit -- replete with beechwood flooring; double-shower arabescato marble bath; an open kitchen with pedal faucet and stainless-steel pot-filler, Smeg appliances, and under-counter freezer; and natural stone TV wall.

The unit was sold in 2011 for a (still) record price for comparable units in the compound.
